AWS previews a Well-Architected Agent that turns reviews into runbooks

AWS has put a Well-Architected Agent into preview, positioning it as the AI-driven successor to Trusted Advisor and the Well-Architected Tool. Instead of a static questionnaire, it analyzes your infrastructure metrics and application topology against Well-Architected best practices, and it also reviews Infrastructure-as-Code in Terraform, CDK and CloudFormation. Recommendations come at the resource, application and architecture level, prioritized by the business goals you set, with cross-pillar analysis showing how a change to cost might affect performance or reliability. The practical hook is remediation: the agent produces SSM runbooks, CLI scripts and guided console walkthroughs rather than just findings. It is available from US East (N. Virginia), US East (Ohio) and US West (Oregon), can onboard workloads from any commercial Region, and requires an AWS Support plan. Pricing was not stated, so treat it as a preview to evaluate against your existing review cadence rather than a replacement yet.
