AWS Bedrock AgentCore payments goes GA, letting AI agents pay for themselves

AWS made Amazon Bedrock AgentCore payments generally available on August 18, letting AI agents autonomously pay for APIs, MCP servers, and paywalled content without a human approving each transaction. Built with Coinbase and Stripe Privy wallets, it handles the x402 protocol handshake whenever an agent hits an HTTP 402 response, and GA adds support for Stripe/Tempo's Machine Payment Protocol plus a variable-price "upto" spending ceiling for pay-per-inference billing. Spending caps are enforced per session at the infrastructure layer, and AgentCore Observability tracks each transaction's audit trail, success rate, and average value.
