Amazon EventBridge has rebuilt its custom event bus for enterprise scale. One central bus can now serve every account in an AWS Organization, removing the cross-account permissions and bus-to-bus routing that multi-account event architectures usually need. Publishers can tag events with an EventGroupId so that subscribers who opt in receive related events in order, and content-based deduplication drops retried events within a five-minute window. A new Subscriber resource bundles filtering, targets, retry policy and dead-letter destination into one unit, with JSONata event reshaping, Avro and Protocol Buffers support, and synchronous invocation for targets such as Lambda. Pricing moves to an ingress/egress model: publishers pay for events ingested and subscribers for events delivered, which should cut cross-account routing charges. The default quota is 10,000 subscribers per bus, and it is available now in 15 regions including N. Virginia, Ireland, Frankfurt, Sydney and Tokyo.
